Kuyliev Bahrom - scientist in the field of molecular spectroscopy, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, professor. He conducts scientific research in the field of optics, molecular optics and Raman scattering spectroscopy. He has published more than 90 scientific papers in this field, including the textbook ‘Optics’ and several textbooks, also articles 7 in journals included in Scopus base. Since 2023, he has been working as Head of the Department of General Physics at Karshi State University.
The Department of General Physics was established in 2021. The department’s staff consists of three professors, one Candidate of Sciences (Associate Professor), two senior lecturers, five assistant lecturers, and one doctoral candidate. The department’s scientific potential stands at 45%. The Department of General Physics is responsible for training specialists in the "60530500 – Physics" field of study. It also offers a Master’s degree program in the specialization "70530501 – Physics (concentrations: optics, magneto-optics, molecular optics)."
Educational technologies based on modern pedagogical and information technologies have been developed for all subjects taught at the department. The department operates two lecture halls equipped with modern information-communication and multimedia tools. Currently, the department is headed by Bakhrom Tokhliyevich Kuyliyev. To enhance scientific potential, all junior instructors are paired with experienced faculty members. Five instructors are currently working on their PhD dissertations. A scientific seminar operates within the department. The department collaborates with the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the "Optics and Spectroscopy" Department at the Institute of Engineering Physics of Samarkand State University, the "Photonics" Department at the National University of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Ion-Plasma and Laser Technologies, and numerous other higher education institutions across the country. Furthermore, the department maintains cooperation agreements with higher education institutions in CIS countries. Faculty members publish joint articles with professors from St. Petersburg University and Kyiv National University and engage in exchange visits to conduct classes. In the 2025–2026 academic year, Professor I.Y. Doroshenko and Associate Professor A.P. Naumenko from Kyiv National University are delivering lectures to students and young scientists via the ZOOM platform.
